Hidden powers of the human mind
The hidden powers of the human mind will continue to interest the scientific researchers for a long time yet. The more that is known about the complexities and the hidden powers of the human mind, the human brain and the many factors that influence man’s behavior the more there appears yet to be discovered.
What makes any of us behave the way we do? Why do so many people ‘conform’ to what is expected of us by our society, our religion and our governments? Why do some communicate better than others? Why are many susceptible to the vagaries of modern life? Why can some people cope and thrive with whatever is thrown at them and yet others ‘fall apart’ ?
Stress is needed by the human body unfortunately not all stress is good. Stress stimulates a reaction that sends the brain a signal and in turn the brain triggers off chemical changes that affect our many organs, heart, liver etc. In some ways stress is a great help in others it can be the start of a death sentence. What I call modern stress is caused by a range of factors that if controlled in some way could help your self to a better life. So many people want what others have, they worry and create stress on themselves or they put themselves in positions of pressure that can’t be managed. Often people carry out jobs that they hate and that is enough to make them ill. They are often driven by the need for a life style that is beyond their reach and has been created from the so called celebrity culture. Keeping up appearances and being seen with must have designer clothes, jewellery or car can have long term damage on your health.
Why can some people communicate well with animals and others can’t, just think of the horse whisperer! I think it is a capability within us all to work at a higher level of communication we have to open our minds to greater possibilities. Lets face it go back 30 years and who would have been convinced that a small device the size of your hand could carry more information than a truck load of paper files. Man’s brain is far more intricate and powerful than the man made computer. Yet we believe what we see on the computer screen over and above what we feel and sense in our selves. Man has developed over millions of years and now we are probably further away from using our own built in equipment than ever before. The main sense that man seems to use out of all those that remain dormant inside his mind and body is his ‘gut’ feeling. Even as you read this people will be having a ‘feeling’ inside them that they will ignore and yet it could possibly save their life. You should make greater use of what you have to help your self to a better life and I’m sure life for many would be greatly improved.
Even in this modern materialistic western world there is room for man to develop further his own inner abilities. The are high profile individuals who have tapped in to their inner beliefs and make use of them to help and entertain, sadly unless it is easy and entertaining many people have no interest.

Stress: the cause of numerous health issues
This time of year you are likely to encounter a cold, the ‘flu’, chest infections, sinus infections and sore throats to name a few or someone close to you will develop the symptoms. These bugs and nasty infections get into us when our immune system is a little weak or overworked and no matter what you do they will have their time irritating and weakening you further.
Stress is often seen as something linked just to our mood or emotions, we are at work and things are not going right, a particular task is outside of your comfort zone maybe you feel threatened and you feel ‘stressed’ and can’t wait to get home for a beer, glass of wine or grab a bar of chocolate.
The mind matters, getting ‘stressed’ can trigger off chemical reactions in the bodies organs for example to produce more adrenaline, this is generated in times of fear and the situation is often referred to as the ‘fight or flight’ mode . Adrenaline could be seen as the bodies supercharger it gets you going and has been known to push people to do extraordinary physical feats outside of their normal capability. At the time of an accident for example people have been known to lift up a car to release someone who is trapped, when in normal circumstances they don’t have anything like that strength available.
Imagine what state your body and mind would be in if you were feeling that adrenaline rush every few hours during your working day! And in many, many cases that’s exactly what is happening. If the mind and body keeps pumping extra amounts of chemicals like adrenaline in response to the stresses being perceived by the mind on a regular basis eventually the body can collapse or shut down. There is a cost to this activity and one is that our poor old immune system gets battered and weakened, when you put up your feet for a rest so does the immune system, it can’t cope it has a nap, its defences are down and hey presto you have a sore throat, a high body temperature etc. etc.
So take a look at how to manage the stress in your life, take a break for 5 minutes from the computer screen, have a good laugh with friends or colleagues, have a quiet ‘day dream’ of a great memory, put into perspective the threats in your job. Is ‘failure not an option’? I can’t recall any UK bankers being taken out and shot after their catastrophic mismanagement of their business! Perhaps we say YES to often in our jobs when sometimes a reasoned explanation can take undue pressure away. For example “Yes I can do XYZ, I will have to put ABC on hold of course so which way do you want to play it?” Give it a try. Good luck and remember your mind does matter, preserve it for you.

My friend who set me on the path of helping and healing through an open mind and belief in myself has returned to England so it will be great to catch up with her soon and share some experiences. Eilean I hope you are settling in and getting used to English country life once again, welcome home. Eilean introduced me to Reike and Healing Freedom™ a few years ago and I have had great comfort and enjoyment from those two practices ever since.
The response from clients is always enlightening and often uplifting. We can all do something to help each other in many ways, just a simple genuine smile can pass on a great feeling, try it, there is no pain involved and it will do you good at the same time. Apparently it takes less muscles to smile than frown and smiling creates a feel good factor inside you so it’s worth trying!
I find that the modern fast life we are involved with doesn’t always bring out the best in us so when things are getting a little too much find a quiet corner, take a deep breath hold it for a count of 6 and breath out through pursed lips almost like a whistle do this 3 or 4 times and it will help you calm yourself and think a little clearer.

Now we have moved into 2011 what can we expect from life, you only get out from what you put in comes to mind. Really it is down to the individual to make things happen in life yet we often need some help along the way and we shouldn’t be shy of asking for some direction or advice.
Often circumstances outside of our control cause unhappiness and distress, overcoming these situations offers a challenge to some and a complete obstruction to others.
If your self-confidence is low then a negative feeling can wash over you and you fail to see or find a solution. Lifting your confidence and feeling good about yourself for many people is difficult to achieve without the help of someone to lift up their spirits and find the inner strength that does exist within us.
I hope 2011 will be good to you and if you need a little help then have a look through my web pages and give Healing Freedom™ a chance.

Today I have completed the first (and largest) section of training to become a Hypnotherapist. I can now practice Hypnotherapy and offer people help in a great number of ways and learn a great deal more of life. Although I’m qualified the training doesn’t stop, there are specialist areas in Hypnotherapy that require specific in depth training and I’m looking forward to the continuing journey.
The energy and goodwill I have received certainly has helped me to take in the Hypnotherapy training. Above all having two great teachers Paul Peace and Karen Bartle from the Academy of Advanced Changework in Sheffield, has given me the experience of a lifetime.
Talking to my colleagues on the Hypnotherapy training course we seemed to arrive at a conclusion that life dictates what will happen. What I mean is that why in the autumn of my life have I been fortunate enough to discover energy healing, Reiki and Hypnotherapy amongst other things to help me to help other people. At the same time meeting new people of differing ages (most of them much younger than me) who have arrived at a similar place with their own stories to tell and undertaken training to become Hypnotherapists. Life is a wonderful thing which we should enjoy and help others enjoy whenever we can.

Help from Healing-Freedom™ recently got me through a difficult time in my life. Within days of each other I suffered a bereavement and the loss of my job. I decided to treat myself using the Healing-Freedom™ technique, it works for my clients. My emotions were all over the place and trying to think straight was difficult, energy healing was the answer so I carried out a treatment on myself and found a great boost to my state of mind. This episode in my life has created changes to the way I think and how I prioritise.
A calmer person with a more open mind has emerged, the healing that has taken place within me and the healing work that I do certainly gives me a feeling that is so good it is difficult to describe.
Being involved with ‘alternative’ therapy, Healing-Freedom™, Reiki, etc. I decided that the time was right for me to pursue this as a full time career. Now not everyone can accept what I say about the way energy healing works and the great results that are achieved. So I looked for another way to help people that has some similarities to what I already do and is more widely accepted having a higher profile. I decided that Hypnotherapy was a path to follow, (no not making people think they are a chicken running around on stage – that is a routine used by some stage Hypnotists), ‘Therapy’ is the important part that makes all the difference.
Earlier this month (February) I commenced a training programme to become a Hypnotherapist with a recognised Diploma, already I feel so good about this, my confidence is growing like I have never felt before. The energy I feel is so positive thanks to Healing-Freedom™ it has become the cornerstone of my future.
